After hearing Medici CEO Frans Johansson speak about the power of The Medici Effect, agriculture tech entrepreneur Vishal Singh combined his interests in robotics, computer graphics and art to create a technology that would address head on the $3B in losses the U.S. cattle industry faces every year due to health issues afflicting the animals. Quantified Ag’s story represents the unlikely possibilities that lie at the Intersection.

Bringing together human rights activists, engineers, data scientists, social entrepreneurs, journalists, and local governments, PeaceTech Lab is the epitome of The Medici Effect. They work to reduce violent conflict using technology, media, and data to accelerate and scale peace-building efforts. PeaceTech's work spans across 18 countries, and they are at the forefront of an emerging industry to create a safer world.
LAKE NONA: MEDICIAL CITY
In the highlands of Guatemala, Alterna Impact is working to lift the social entrepreneurship ecosystem to its full potential. Inspired by The Medici Effect, Alterna's inclusive platform bridges the gap between local entrepreneurs and the resources that can enhance their impact by leveraging partnerships with key institutions and organizations in the private, public, and academic sectors.
The Medici Effect is one of pillars of inspiration behind Medical City, a $5 billion life sciences development at Lake Nona in Orlando. Today, Medical City exemplifies the Medici Effect on earth, bringing together research facilities, educational institutions, entrepreneurs, and clinical treatment centers. We have collaborated with Lake Nona to expand its regional influence, and to create an innovation ecosystem that serves as an example for the rest of the world.
INSTITUTE OF BUSINESS CREATIVITY
Launched in April 2018, the Institute of Business Creativity bridges the business world and academia to produce relevant, highly impactful, practice-based research and solutions. As a new educational model at École hôtelière de Lausanne, the pioneering university for hotel management, the Institute aims to deconstruct the traditional creative process. They used The Medici Effect as a catalyst.
